  • The Rooted Track is for applicants who currently live in the TFA Appalachia region. The Rooted Track is open to both TFA alumni and non-alumni.

Lab members must live and be fully employed within the region for the duration of the 3-year program term.

If an applicant lives in the region but does not currently work full-time in the region, part of the application process will include a talent matching phase through which the applicant secures full-time employment in the region, with the support of TFA Appalachia staff.

  • The Relocation Track is for applicants who do NOT currently live in the TFA Appalachia region, but are willing to commit to relocating to the region. The Relocation Track is only available to TFA alumni at this time.

Lab members must live and be fully employed within the region for the duration of the 3-year program term.

As part of the application process for the Relocation track, applicants will engage in a talent matching phase through which the applicant secures full-time employment in the region, with the support of TFA Appalachia staff. Once full-time employment has been secured, accepted fellows will be expected to relocate to the region within six months (no later than January 2024). TFA Appalachia provides support in choosing housing, locating amenities, and building a vibrant community once here. The three-year program term officially begins once the accepted Fellow moves to the region.
